Please enjoy this introduction to our missionaries in their own words. They are all so diverse and are called to different types of ministries, but all with the same goal - to reveal Jesus Christ as Lord. Let us lift them up in prayer and encourage them in the
good work the Lord has called them to do.

Wife: Naomi; Children: Isaac - 8; Caleb - 6; Eliana – 4
When I was at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Twin Peaks, CA, back in 1996, God spoke to my heart to “feed His lambs, tend His sheep, and feed His sheep.” I had never intended to be a pastor, much less a missionary to a foreign country. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1994, and was intending to go into sports broadcasting and public relations. Yet God had radically grabbed a hold of my heart and I found myself at Bible College studying His Word for the very first time in my life. The initial reason for going was because I just wanted to get to know Jesus better. But now, I found myself with a burden and a calling to teach His Word to others.
When I met Naomi she had a great burden for her home country, while I knew very little about England. I just assu.med because I was just such an American guy that it was just natural for me to be called back to my home state of New Jersey to minister. Yet with Naomi’s burden and my calling, I believe the Lord had put us together to accomplish His purposes in England.
Over the last ten years of our marriage we have actually lived in both countries as a family. We saw that the Lord was leading us back to England. But this time it seemed like it was for good. So now in 2004 God was bringing us home to England, where I would now be the Director of the Bible College in York for a season. While in York, we knew that God was stirring us to begin a new work. God was clearly leading us to move to Kendal in the Lake District of England. We have now been in Kendal for two years and it has been amazing to see what the Lord has done with our time here. We have had a wonderful opportunity to minister to many who have found themselves in very vulnerable and difficult situations in life through drugs, alcohol and just troubled living. We have seen quite of few people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and it is our great desire to see them now grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The latest venture of faith that the Lord has just lead us into is the establishing of Spring Valley Christian School. We have just begun a primary school, which is for ages 4 to 11 years old. I say it is a venture of faith because we trust the Lord for all of His provision for the school and the teachers, as we aren’t charging any tuition fees. We believe that the Lord has shown us to make this available to any and all who are able and willing to receive a godly education.
Thank you for joining us in prayer for all that the Lord is doing here in Kendal. We recognize that unless the Lord builds the house we labour in vain who build it, so therefore we desire that this work is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit. |

I met my wife, Melinda here in Debrecen while she was a student at the University of Debrecen. At the time I was involved with a music group, and although a Christian by name, I did not have a close walk with the Lord. Then I got invited to Calvary Chapel and through the simple but consistent teaching of THE WORD my life was changed!!!
Then I said: the greatest thing in my life is Jesus and his life changing power, so I want to help others experience the same thing!!!!
The hunger in my heart for Gods word and the desire to help others know the love of God kept growing and growing and growing...
This is how we started to minister through our local church (CC Debrecen). Through the years God used us in planting a Gipsy church outside of Debrecen, in Böszörmény. A few years later God also moved us to start a Bible Study in Nyiregyhaza, a city North-East of Debrecen. This has been our main ministry focus for the last four years as there aren’t any other Bible teaching churches in that city of 80 thousand people, not to mention its surroundings with many thousand more in the neighboring villages!!! They all need to know the grace of God!
Our main goal is to preach Christ and Him crucified.
Our son, Krisztian is 9, and as he likes playing soccer we play and hang out with the neighboring kids. A couple of them have already come to church with us and are open to the gospel so please pray for continued fruit in that "spontaneous" ministry.
Melinda teaches English at a language school which again brings us into contact with more people.
All we really need is the presence of Jesus in our lives through His Spirit. Pease pray for that. |

My wife is Kate. Two daughters - Sarah (3) and Sophia (2). Our 3rd baby is due 2 October. Kate is actually English (I married her for her beautiful accent) :-)
I was saved in 1995. Soon after being born again I had a desire to serve in missions. But, that desire dwindled. I moved from Orlando, Florida and went to Calvary Chapel Bible College in 1997. At the beginning of my 2nd semester of Bible College a friend asked me if I would ever go to the mission field and I said no. But, the Lord soon changed my heart and I asked to go to the Calvary Chapel Bible College campus in Austria. I spent my last 2 semesters (1 year) of Bible College there where I was able to do many short-term outreaches to Romania, Italy, Hungary, Austria, and Germany. Between my 3rd and 4th semester, I was praying about serving in Romania long-term. The Lord then re-directed me to Prague, Czech Republic. He confirmed my call to Prague using Joshua 1:3, 9. After I graduated from Bible College (1998), I moved to Prague and served there for 3 years as a Youth/Assistant Pastor.
In 2000, while I was still serving in Prague I did an outreach trip to York, England. That's where I met Kate. 11 months later, I moved to York, we got married (June 2001), and I taught for 1 semester at the Calvary Chapel Bible College. Then Kate and I moved back to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where I served at CC Ft. Lauderdale for 3 years. I oversaw Missionary Care, the Missions Training program, and served in leadership in the local outreach ministry. I also taught children's ministry, Adult Ed, and in the Bible College there.
In 2004, the Lord moved Kate and I (and Sarah) back to York, England and since then I have been teaching at the Calvary Chapel Bible College here. The Lord used Matthew 28:18-20 to confirm my call back to York. I am presently teaching the Biblical Missions class, Revelation, and the Postexilics (Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi). I also oversee the short-term outreach trips from the Bible College, I do a Bible study weekly in a town called Malton, I oversee the Prison Ministry and street witnessing in York. I also get to serve other Calvary's around the UK by teaching from time to time on Sundays. |

My Family: Well, right now our family is just me and my wife Patty. You may not know but in Feb. of 2006 my wife had a premature birth of our daughter, Brisa Sophia. She lived for a month and 10 days and died of a pneumonia infection in her lungs. That was one of the most difficult trials we have passed through. But God is our strength and our rock in the times of storm. We can see now how God has blessed us, even though we can't wait to see our little girl when we get to heaven. We hope to get pregnant again soon, we have had problems in this area. Please pray for this.
As is your church, our church is an outshoot of the same church in Austin Texas. I always have been interested in missions. When I was 12, I was in a Sunday School class and God began to give me clues. We were studying spiritual gifts; the teacher brought a "test" to help us find our gifts. Well I came out as an "apostle" or missionary. I did not remember that until I was praying about going to the mission field years later. I started praying because I was reading the CC Missions Mag., one article in particular stuck out to me. It was about a Calvary starting in Managua, Nicaragua. I could not get that church off my mind; I would wake up during the night and have the people there on my mind, so I would pray. I felt God leading me to go down for a 2 week "knocking on the door" trip to see if it was God's will. It is all history from there.
I was in Managua for almost a year before I went to Honduras. I was serving at the Managua church but felt that God wanted me to start another church. So, I began to explore in other cities... not long after a friend of the Pastor (working with Teen Missions) came to visit him from Honduras. She brought an interpreter with her named Patricia Mercado. The friend of the Pastor and her interpreter were only in Managua for half of a day. But when I met Patricia, something was different. I can't explain it but I felt as if I met someone very special that could be my future wife. But she left the next morning at 4a.m., so I told God if the feeling was true, bring her back but if not, I would not think about it any more. She came back a month later, we courted for 3 months and we got married.
During our courtship and marriage counseling we shared our vision for ministry and we decided it would be cool to start a Calvary in Honduras where there were none at that time.
The Tegucigalpa, Honduras church was planted in July of 2003 and we have been faithfully teaching God's Word verse by verse since that date. This city is the Capital and the largest city in Honduras. We are located in the downtown area. We are in an area where there are lots of drug addicts, prostitutes, and homosexuals. In other words, lots of people need Jesus. We currently have around 40 members and we have lots of areas of needs. In 2005 we planted another church in a rural area called Ojojona. It is in the mountains and there is severe poverty and spiritual poverty also. This church has 30 children and youth and 4 adults. It is funny because the two places where God has us are completely different. The city is fast, loud, the people are rude but in the rural area the people are shy, there is no noise more that the wind blowing through the trees and no one is in a hurry.
Our vision is to win, equip, and send. You guys can help us with the first two and we can help you with the last one. |
